10 Million Won Rural-Urban Cooperation Fund... 200 Packages of 9 Types of Local Agricultural Products Delivered
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd. Honam Thermal Power Headquarters (Head Lee Young-chan) delivered 200 agricultural product packages sponsorship certificates to Yeosu City the day before to support the dietary life of low-income elderly living alone.
This sponsorship was prepared by Korea East-West Power in conjunction with signing an agreement with the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Agriculture and Fisheries, raising a 10 million won rural coexistence cooperation fund to support low-income elderly living alone residing in seven towns and townships in the jurisdiction.
The agricultural product packages consist of nine types of agricultural products such as mixed grains, scorched rice, sweet potatoes, and jujube tomatoes, expected to help the healthy dietary life of elderly living alone and revitalize the local economy depressed by COVID-19.
Head Lee Young-chan said, “I think this is the loneliest and most difficult time for low-income elderly living alone who are struggling with life as well as the local economy stagnation due to the prolonged COVID-19,” adding, “Although I cannot meet and deliver directly to each elderly person, I hope this sponsorship item will be a meaningful gift that brings vitality to their homes, and we will continue to create opportunities for sponsorship to become a company that coexists with local residents.”
Yeosu Mayor Kwon Oh-bong said, “I express my gratitude to Korea East-West Power Honam Thermal Power for sponsoring precious gifts for elderly living alone who are struggling during these difficult times due to COVID-19,” adding, “I hope you will take the lead in making Yeosu a happy and livable city for all citizens through continuous interest and sponsorship.”
