[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 30th, Joo Ho-young, the floor leader of the People Power Party, responded to reports that Secret Service agents armed with pistols were deployed during President Moon Jae-in's policy speech at the National Assembly, saying, "I don't know if it's because they don't trust the lawmakers inside the sacred National Assembly, but if the National Assembly Secretariat allowed the introduction of weapons through consultation, such an incident must never happen again."

Right after the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Joo told reporters, "(The matter is) currently under verification," and made the remarks.

Regarding the Democratic Party nominating candidates for the by-elections, Floor Leader Joo said, "There is no way to sanction the Democratic Party for changing its party rules, but wouldn't the public evaluate it as shameless or partly unconstitutional?" He criticized, "They are contradicting themselves on promises such as not creating a proportional party, implementing prosecution reform, and guaranteeing two opposition members as recommendation commissioners for the Corruption Investigation Office."

Regarding North Korea's mention that the South is responsible for the shooting of the West Sea public official, he said, "We don't need to respond to every statement from North Korea, but saying the South is at fault implies that our Ministry of National Defense and military made a mistake."
