Chairman Lee Jang-han of Chong Kun Dang Actively Supports Global Talent Development... Full Tuition Support for 43 Overseas Scholarship Students and More Jongkundang Gochon Foundation scholarship students attending the 2020 Overseas Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony held online

Jongkundang Gochon Foundation (Chairman Kim Doo-hyun) selected 43 local scholarship students in Vietnam and Indonesia and held the 2020 online scholarship certificate awarding ceremony.

The Jongkundang Gochon Foundation plans to fully support tuition fees until graduation starting this year for 40 scholarship students from Hanoi University of Pharmacy and Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam, as well as from the National University and Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia. In addition, tuition and living expenses are provided to three Vietnamese scholarship students currently enrolled in graduate schools in Korea.

This year’s scholarship certificate awarding ceremony was replaced by a non-face-to-face online commemorative event to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The event was conducted in the form of congratulatory remarks by foundation officials and reflections shared by the scholarship students.

Kim Doo-hyun, Chairman of the Jongkundang Gochon Foundation, said, “It is regrettable that the scholarship certificate awarding ceremony had to be held online due to the impact of COVID-19, but I am glad to see the healthy appearances of the scholarship students, even if only through the screen.” He emphasized, “Despite the difficult situation, I hope the students will take pride and honor as scholarship recipients of the Jongkundang Gochon Foundation and devote themselves to their studies.”

Meanwhile, the Jongkundang Gochon Foundation has been conducting overseas scholarship projects since 2013, following the proposal of Chairman Lee Jang-han of Jongkundang to support talents from underdeveloped countries with high growth potential. To date, it has supported 296 local scholarship students. The foundation is leading efforts to invite outstanding scholarship students to Korea and provide opportunities for exchange and cultural experiences between domestic and international scholarship students.
