[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Department Store will hold the ‘Korea Fashion Market Season 2’ simultaneously online and offline for 7 days starting from the 30th, aiming to assist small and medium-sized fashion companies struggling to clear their inventory.

The Korea Fashion Market is a large-scale fashion product discount event conducted through collaboration between the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the distribution and fashion industries to revitalize the economy weakened by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to support small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners. When Lotte Department Store held Korea Fashion Market Season 1 last June, it selected 95 fashion brands to support their sales channels and engaged in win-win activities by reducing sales commissions.

This Season 2 event has expanded its scale significantly by increasing the number of participating stores by three compared to last time, taking place at a total of seven stores including the Main Store, Jamsil Store, Pyeongchon Store, and Busan Main Store, while also selling simultaneously on Lotte ON. Along with the event scale, the number of participating brands has approximately doubled from the previous event. About 200 fashion brands including women’s, men’s, outdoor, and golf categories will offer popular fashion apparel at discounts of up to 80%.

The largest-scale event will be held at the Jamsil Store, showcasing various discounted products on the B1 and 8th floors event halls. Young fashion brands such as Tomboy, Zuke, and Nice Claup will offer discounts of 30-70%, women’s fashion brands including Izat Baba, MC, Sys Max, and Carisnote will offer 50-80%, accessory brands such as Tandy, Gose, and Daks Handbag will offer 50-70%, men’s and outdoor brands including Galaxy, Beanpole Sports, Kolon Sports, Nepa, Columbia, and The North Face will offer 40-60%, and sports/casual brands such as Fila, Prospex, Mula Wear, and Giordano will offer 50-80% discounts.

Additionally, Lotte Department Store will broadcast the opening ceremony of Korea Fashion Market Season 2 live through its own live broadcasting platform ‘100LIVE’ at 11 a.m. on the 30th at the Jamsil Store B1 event hall. After conducting a ‘virtual live fashion show,’ the event products will be sold in real time.

Kim Daesu, head of Lotte Department Store’s metropolitan area, said, “Building on the successful hosting of the previous Korea Fashion Market, this event will be held on a larger scale. We hope it will stimulate consumer sentiment, which has been subdued due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and provide practical help to fashion companies facing difficulties.”
