Songpa-gu and Songpa Women's Culture Center to Host 'Online Meet Market' Featuring Kim Seon-kwang Lotte Cultural Foundation CEO's Mini Mixer, Nam In-soon National Assembly Member's Pottery, and Lee Dae-hoon Taekwondo National Team Player's Signed Dobok

Why Did Songpa-gu Hold an Online Auction and Bazaar?

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is holding its first online auction and bazaar to help residents struggling with depression and economic difficulties caused by COVID-19.

This online auction and bazaar, called the ‘Raenseonmannaji Market,’ is held in collaboration with the Songpa Women’s Culture Center. The event name reflects the meaning of meeting and sharing online in the COVID era.

The ‘Raenseonmannaji Market’ will be conducted in two ways: an online auction and a bazaar.

The online auction received donated items through a relay challenge by donation angels. The first donor was Jang Sook, director of the Songpa Women’s Culture Center, who donated a wristwatch, followed by 10 local figures who contributed various cherished items.

Items to be featured include a mini blender from Kim Seon-kwang, CEO of Lotte Cultural Foundation, pottery from National Assembly member Nam In-soon, and a signed taekwondo uniform from national team athlete Lee Dae-hoon.

The auction will be held live on November 11 at 2 p.m. for 100 residents using the video app ZOOM. Those wishing to participate can register by November 6 through the Songpa Women’s Culture Center website or by phone.

The online bazaar will be conducted with donated items from Lotte Cultural Foundation and Woori Bank. Sponsored items such as coffee machines, art products, and clothing will be posted on the Songpa Women’s Culture Center website, and residents can express their purchase intentions through comments to receive purchase opportunities on a first-come, first-served basis. The bazaar will run for one week from November 12 to 18.

All proceeds will be donated to underprivileged groups at the end of the year. In particular, efforts will be made to identify and support neighbors struggling due to COVID-19.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “I hope many residents participate in this online auction and bazaar to bring warm support to neighbors going through a more difficult time than any other year due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to develop various welfare projects to help residents in crisis live with hope.”
