[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Major European stock markets turned broadly lower during the session. This is attributed to the spread of fear as new COVID-19 cases surged sharply in major European countries, including Germany.
As of 9:17 PM Korea time on the 29th, the UK FTSE 100 index was down 0.47% from the previous trading day, standing at 5556.77. The French CAC 40 index fell 1.04% to 4523.59, while the German DAX 30 index dropped 0.63% to 11,487.64.
Spain's IBEX 35 index recorded a sharp decline of 1.91% from the previous trading day, standing at 6350.60.
