Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority I/S/T. YG-Port Development Strategy Contest Held

Implementation Plan for T-Port Advancement Based on SNS: Awarding the Choi Su-woosang Prize

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority I/S/T. YG-Port Development Strategy Contest Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) held a contest to discover follow-up tasks for the 11th Yeosu Gwangyang Port International Forum at the international conference hall on the 2nd floor of the World Marine Center the day before.

The Authority planned this contest to identify feasible and sustainable follow-up tasks related to the continuity of the 11th International Forum held in July and the academic session presentation topics.

On the day, the Authority’s employees presented various proposals from 13 teams in formats such as YouTube content, videos, and PPTs, focusing on the main keywords of the International Forum: Industrial core Port, Smart Port, and Tourism Port.

In particular, this contest was meaningful as all employees participated by linking it with the Training Day held every Wednesday at the Authority, allowing them to collectively consider the future development strategy of Yeosu Gwangyang Port and suggest ways to grow.

Awards were given based on the Authority’s core values of fairness, safety, innovation, and coexistence. The Grand Prize for fairness was awarded to Steel Materials Team 1 for proposing the “Execution Plan for Advancing T-Port Based on SNS.”

The Safety Award went to Middle Management Team 1 for proposing the “Utilization Plan of Cantilever Type ASC to Resolve Congestion in the Synchronous Automated Wharf Interchange Area,” and the Innovation Award was given to Petrochemical Team 2 for proposing “Sketch Light Containing the Dream of Gwangyang Port (Introduction of Media Facade at the Authority’s Office Building).” The remaining 10 teams received the Coexistence Award.

The Authority plans to revise and supplement the various ideas and opinions proposed in this contest and reflect them in future business plans.

President Cha Min-sik said, “The future of Yeosu Gwangyang Port is the I/S/T Port, and the Authority’s employees have discovered various YG-Port brands through deep consideration and learning.” He added, “We will advance and commercialize the tasks proposed in this contest to prepare Yeosu Gwangyang Port for the next 100 years.”

He continued, “We will continuously strive to nurture the Authority’s employees as future port experts.”
