Yeosu City Announces Call for Applicants for the '2021 Agricultural Food Processing Support Project'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 29th that it will accept applications for participants in the ‘2021 Agricultural Food Processing Support Project’ promoted by Jeollanam-do until the 6th of next month.

The targets are four projects in two fields: agricultural food manufacturing and processing (establishment of eco-friendly food industry infrastructure, expansion of HACCP facilities, strengthening competitiveness of small-scale food companies), and traditional food industrialization projects.

Eligibility for application includes agricultural food manufacturing and processing companies (agricultural cooperatives, agricultural corporations, individual businesses, etc.) that currently hold a traditional food manufacturing and processing business registration certificate in Jeollanam-do as of the application date.

Corporations must have a total capital of at least 100 million KRW and at least one year of operational performance (annual sales of 100 million KRW or more), while individual food manufacturing and processing businesses must have at least one year of operational performance (annual sales of 50 million KRW or more).

For companies applying for the project, a comprehensive review of marketability and project feasibility will be conducted through document review, on-site inspection, and presentation evaluation, followed by final selection through Jeollanam-do’s deliberation.

Companies wishing to apply can visit the City Agricultural Technology Center’s Specialty Product Development Division by the 6th of next month to submit their applications.

Detailed information can be found on the Yeosu City website’s public notices or the Yeosu City Agricultural Technology Center website.

A city official stated, “This is a great opportunity to recover the economy stagnated by COVID-19, diversify regional economic activities, and increase income and employment opportunities,” adding, “We hope many local companies participate in this call for applications, which can expand the base of the agricultural food processing industry and strengthen competitiveness through modernization of production facilities and quality enhancement.”
