[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters donated 300 fire extinguishers to traditional markets in the Jeonnam region.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 29th that it held a 'fire extinguisher donation ceremony' with LH Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters (Head Oh Youngoh) at the Yeosu Fire Station on the same day.
At the donation ceremony attended by about 30 people including the Yeosu Fire Station Chief, LH Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters delivered 300 units of 3.3kg fire extinguishers to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, requesting them to be distributed to traditional markets vulnerable to winter fires.
Currently, a total of 2,721 visible fire extinguishers are installed in 114 traditional markets within the jurisdiction.
The 300 fire extinguishers delivered on this day will be distributed by selecting targets such as permanent markets and densely packed small stores within the jurisdiction.
The donated fire extinguishers will be installed in the passageways in front of market stores during this winter season through collaboration between local fire stations and market merchant associations. Each extinguisher will be assigned a management number and a management ledger will be kept, with management status checked once a month.
Oh Youngoh, Head of LH Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, said, “I hope the donated fire extinguishers will help prevent fires in traditional markets and contribute to creating a safe local environment.”
Ma Jaeyoon, Head of Jeonnam Headquarters, said, “We deeply thank all the LH Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters officials who helped distribute visible fire extinguishers to traditional markets,” adding, “We will do our best to create fire-free traditional markets this winter and ensure a safe and secure Jeonnam.”
