[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Post Logistics Support Group to establish a safe driving certification system aimed at preventing traffic accidents and fostering a safe traffic culture.

Under this agreement, the Korea Road Traffic Authority will implement the 'Safe Driving Certification System' for approximately 1,000 logistics and delivery vehicle drivers operated by the Korea Post Logistics Support Group to prevent traffic accidents in the public logistics sector and systematically manage traffic safety.

The Safe Driving Certification System is a comprehensive consulting program that applies the Korea Road Traffic Authority's safe driving education system to enhance the traffic safety credibility of organizations operating business vehicles. The effectiveness has been proven, with certified companies showing a reduction in traffic accidents by about 39%. As a result, it is actively being adopted not only by national and public institutions but also by private companies.

Furthermore, both organizations pledged to cooperate on joint events and promotions necessary for public safety to create a safe working environment for traffic workers and establish a mature traffic culture.

Yoon Jong-gi, Chairman of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, stated, "This agreement will be an important opportunity to secure traffic safety in the public logistics service sector, provide a safe working environment for industry workers, and ultimately deliver prompt and accurate public services to the people." He added, "We will continue to make multifaceted efforts to create a safe traffic environment for the public."
