[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] KF (Korea Foundation) announced on the 29th that it has published Report No. 1 summarizing the current status and issues of domestic and international COVID-19 vaccine development, as well as trends and prospects of international human exchange.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, international travel has become difficult due to quarantine safety measures and regulations. Amid the continued spread of infectious diseases, most domestic and international human exchanges have been canceled or suspended. KF planned to publish a monthly report to provide necessary information in a timely manner and to quickly predict and prepare for the resumption of free international exchange activities after vaccine development and distribution.
The report briefly but essentially includes information useful for international exchange, such as international exchange cases centered on the United States, Japan, China, and Russia, recent news related to airline operations, and trends of countries that have signed fast-track entry procedures with Korea so far. It was prepared with advice from vaccine development experts, including Ji Young-mi, KF’s Special Representative for Health Diplomacy.
The report is available for download on the Korea Foundation website. Starting with the October 2020 issue published this time, updated reports reflecting the latest status will be published monthly for a total of 10 issues.
