[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Kyowon Group is launching a Korean language education program for children aged 3 and above.
Kyowon Group announced on the 29th that it will release the early childhood Korean education program `REDPEN Early Childhood Korean`. This program consists of the `Jamo Syllable Learning Method`, a smart tutor `Ddorong` that helps children study Korean, and the learning tool `Kyowon Tango Board`.
The Jamo Syllable Learning Method is a learning method that teaches the principle of letter combination. It helps children understand the principle of how consonants and vowels combine to produce sounds and makes Korean feel familiar through various content.
Ddorong is a smart character that guides the textbook learning method and coaches children whose concentration has dropped, helping children continue studying Korean on their own without the help of parents or teachers.
The Kyowon Tango Board is a sound learning tool that reads aloud letters or words made using Korean blocks. When words are combined, it explains the meaning or context of the words through animations linked with an application.
Kyowon added that this program, which enables homeschooling during the difficult period of face-to-face learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to be an alternative solution for child-led Korean education.
A Kyowon Group official said, "REDPEN Early Childhood Korean helps young children touch, listen, and experience to awaken the principles of Korean," and added, "We expect it to provide a solution for parents who have to teach Korean alone at home through non-face-to-face methods."
