The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs hosted the 'Food and Dining Industry Development Merit' award ceremony on the opening day of the 2020 Korea Food Expo on the 28th, presenting awards to those who contributed to the growth and development of the food and dining industry.
BBQ was recognized for its efforts to increase the income of domestic livestock farmers by using domestic livestock products and participating in the International Agriculture Expo. At the '2019 International Agriculture Expo,' BBQ actively promoted the excellence of domestic raw materials by offering all its brands, including BBQ Chicken, the snack specialty brand Olttok, the healthy chicken dish specialty Dak-ikneun Maeul, and the pork cutlet and udon specialty brand Ukkuya.
Additionally, BBQ contributed to the development of the dining industry by introducing the industry's first 'Foodbot' that serves chicken, implementing 'Tablet Order,' and the self-order system 'Smart Kiosk,' and opening the 'Helios City Branch' store that provides convenience and non-face-to-face digital functions.
BBQ stated, "This Prime Minister's Commendation was awarded to over 1,600 family stores (franchisees) and the BBQ headquarters together," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide 'the most delicious and healthy chicken in the world' using excellent domestic raw materials."
