Hyosung Re-certified as an Excellent Institution for Cultural and Arts Sponsorship


[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hyosung received its third certification as an excellent cultural arts sponsorship organization at the 'Cultural Arts Sponsorship Excellence Institution Certification Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the 28th.


The 'Cultural Arts Sponsorship Excellence Institution Certification' is an event held for the sixth time this year since the enactment of the Act on the Promotion of Culture and Arts in January 2014. It is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Arts Council. The Korea Arts Council evaluates companies' Mecenat activities based on diversity, sustainability, and operational systems to select excellent cultural arts sponsorship institutions, and the certification is valid for three years. At this certification ceremony, 13 companies including Hyosung were re-certified.


Hyosung actively supports the cultural arts sector and carries out various social contribution activities. Since 2010, it has sponsored the 'Yo-Yo Ma Silk Road Ensemble' led by the world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. It also supports the orchestra for disabled youth, 'Onnuri Sarang Chamber,' and supports the artistic activities of artists affiliated with the 'Jamsil Creative Studio,' a creative space for disabled artists.


Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-joon has emphasized, "Through continuous cultural arts sponsorship, we want to create a society where more citizens can experience culture and arts up close and share that inspiration together."
