[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) is holding the 'Incheon VR·AR (Virtual·Augmented Reality) Content Idea Contest' until the 24th of next month.
The contest accepts submissions in two categories: VR·AR content ideas themed on 'Incheon,' reflecting regional characteristics such as industry, culture, tourism, history, geography, and economy; and VR·AR content ideas themed on 'non-face-to-face services,' including video conferencing, online education, remote work, and online cultural activities.
Any South Korean citizen with a VR·AR content idea can participate individually or as a team of up to four members. Participants can submit their idea proposals through the contest website (www.vrarcontest.kr).
Incheon TP will select 36 winners through evaluation, awarding a total prize of 30 million KRW: one grand prize winner per category (5 million KRW), two excellence award winners per category (2 million KRW each), five encouragement award winners per category (1 million KRW each), and ten honorable mentions per category (100,000 KRW each). The award ceremony is scheduled for early December.
Incheon TP plans to exhibit the selected works at the Incheon VR·AR Production Hub Center and support connections with local companies in Incheon for content implementation.
An Incheon TP official stated, "Through this contest themed on the region and era, we expect to realize the convergence of region-specific content and the VR·AR industry," adding, "It will also help build digital non-face-to-face services in the post-COVID-19 era."
