[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The government is providing healing programs to medical staff and quarantine officials dedicated to responding to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 29th that they will support medical staff, quarantine officials, volunteers, and other response personnel exhausted from COVID-19 to experience healing programs at 'recommended wellness tourism sites' until December 12.
This project will be conducted at nine recommended wellness tourism sites (4 in Gangwon region, 1 in Chungcheong region, 3 in Gyeongsang region, and 1 in Jeju). The participants include a total of 1,200 people, including medical staff, quarantine officials, and volunteers dedicated to preventing the spread of COVID-19 at infectious disease specialized hospitals and screening clinics nationwide (including one accompanying person).
Participants can experience various healing programs provided at the recommended wellness tourism sites for one night and two days. Programs include mindfulness meditation, breath observation yoga, negative ion forest experiences, and healing meals that help strengthen immunity.
Details of the programs and application methods were provided to infectious disease specialized hospitals and screening clinics through the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters. The first round of reservations was completed by the 25th, and additional applications for the remaining programs can be made on a first-come, first-served basis from today until November 3 through the reservation website (www.wellness2020.kr).
