Baskin-Robbins Opens ‘Samcheong Madang Branch’ with Traditional Hanok Concept

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Baskin-Robbins, operated by SPC Group, announced on the 29th that it has opened the ‘Baskin-Robbins Samcheong Madang Store’ with a traditional Hanok concept.

Located in Hwadong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Baskin-Robbins Samcheong Madang Store is a concept store aiming to be a ‘space where tradition and modernity harmonize,’ inspired by the courtyard of a Hanok where leisure and togetherness coexist.

As Baskin-Robbins’ tenth concept store, Samcheong Madang Store highlights features of traditional Hanok such as roof tiles, wooden pillars, and walls. The store’s center features a courtyard and outdoor seating, allowing customers to use the space widely. The tranquil atmosphere of the Hanok combined with soft lighting makes it ideal for enjoying the night view of Samcheongdong-gil. Additionally, ‘String Art,’ inspired by Korea’s cultural heritage of hemp weaving, is displayed throughout the store, adding charm to the space.

Baskin-Robbins also offers exclusive menu items only available at Samcheong Madang Store. The menu consists of three ice cream desserts and four beverages, all modern reinterpretations of traditional Korean ingredients. These include △ ‘Madang Sundae (5,200 KRW),’ soft ice cream topped with honey butter corn or red beans, enjoyed with brown rice chips △ ‘Madang Soft Serve (choose between corn or black sesame soft ice cream, 4,500 KRW),’ featuring black sesame or corn soft ice cream paired with savory sesame oil and crispy puffed rice △ ‘Wawa Tteok (5,800 KRW),’ a waffle with injeolmi rice cake topped with ice cream.

For beverages, customers can enjoy △ ‘Pumpkin Sikhye Blended (5,900 KRW),’ topped with traditional Korean rice punch and yukwa △ ‘Sipjeondaebo Blended (5,900 KRW),’ a healthy blend of Sipjeondaebo tea and pear △ ‘Black Sesame Jjon Tteok Blast (5,900 KRW),’ ice cream paired with chewy rice cake and rich black sesame △ ‘Black Sesame Affogato (4,800 KRW),’ black sesame soft ice cream with espresso.

To celebrate the opening of Samcheong Madang Store, Baskin-Robbins is holding a Happy Point app event until November 19. Coupons are offered for a 30% discount on ‘Madang Sundae Ice Cream,’ ‘Soft Serve,’ and ‘Wawa Tteok,’ and a 4,000 KRW discount on a quarter-sized ice cream priced at 11,500 KRW. Downloaded coupons can only be used at Samcheong Madang Store and are valid until November 19.
