[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “Real estate information? No need to search here and there, get it all in one place!”

Ulsan City plans to provide a “Comprehensive Real Estate Information Viewing Web Service,” which allows easy access to five types of real estate information, starting from January next year. This service is the first of its kind nationwide.

The Comprehensive Real Estate Information Viewing System is part of the “Ulsan-type Data Dam Construction Plan” linked to the Korean Digital New Deal. It is designed to allow users to view real estate information such as apartment prices, individual house prices, individual official prices, standard market values, urban planning confirmations, and cadastral maps all at once on a web interface.

Currently, various real estate-related information is dispersed across five different websites managed by institutions such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Korea Local Information Development Institute), Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Korea Appraisal Board.

When individuals want to verify the value of their real estate assets or check tax imposition criteria and other data necessary for real estate transactions, they must visit each site individually, enduring inconvenience and wasting time.

Additionally, official real estate prices are used for administrative purposes such as welfare sectors including basic pensions and various burden charge calculations based on government policies, but even administrative agencies cannot access all the data at once.

To eliminate these inconveniences, Ulsan City plans to build a web service on the Ulsan City website that allows nationwide real estate prices and related information to be viewed all at once.

Ulsan City will first provide an integrated web service for viewing five types of information (apartment prices, individual house prices, standard market values, individual official land prices, urban planning confirmations, and cadastral maps) starting January 2021.

Next, the city will consider adding various other real estate-related information such as building management registers and land registers.

Ulsan City plans to complete system development by the end of this year and officially launch the service on its website in January next year.

An official from Ulsan City said, “This service will improve public information accessibility through integrated provision of public data, making it convenient for citizens and increasing administrative efficiency. We will practice leading administration by establishing the nation’s first web service.”
