"Eliminates Bacteria" Shinhan Card Introduces Antibacterial Film Card Plate

Introduction of Card Plates Coated with Antibacterial Film to Prevent Bacteria and Viruses

"Eliminates Bacteria" Shinhan Card Introduces Antibacterial Film Card Plate

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 29th that it will officially introduce an antibacterial card (tentative name) to reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses amid increased interest in personal hygiene due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and influenza (flu).

The antibacterial card is coated on both sides of the card plate with an antibacterial film that is 99.9% effective against bacteria and viruses. Unlike the existing coating method (spraying antibacterial substances on the surface of the card plate), the antibacterial film coating enhances antibacterial efficacy and quickly eliminates bacteria or viruses transferred from hands to reduce the probability of transmission.

Shinhan Card will first apply this to cards that offer benefits for daily transportation means, such as the ‘Gwangyeok Altteul Transportation Card’ and the ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Discount (EV) Card,’ and plans to gradually expand the application to other products.

A Shinhan Card official explained, “Based on our positive experience using eco-friendly wooden material films on card plates for existing ECO cards, we decided to introduce card plates with added antibacterial effects this time to reduce customer anxiety about personal hygiene amid the COVID-19 and flu outbreaks.”
