Confirmed Mid- to Long-Term Management Goals Reflecting COVID-19 Environmental and Digital New Deal Policies
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has prepared a mid-to-long-term plan to support the recovery of the domestic tourism industry, which is facing a crisis due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to promote management stabilization.
On the 29th, GKL announced that at the board meeting held the previous day at its headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul, it reviewed and approved the draft mid-to-long-term management goals for 2021-2025, changing the existing performance-oriented strategic direction to "Tourism Industry Recovery Support" and "GKL Stabilization."
The approved plan includes strategic goals to respond to changes in the management environment caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, such as ▲ revitalizing the casino business ▲ supporting the tourism industry ▲ realizing social value ▲ leading government policies.
To align with the government's "Digital New Deal," new strategic tasks such as "building digital infrastructure" based on ▲ strengthening non-face-to-face game operations ▲ developing and expanding ICT-based education programs ▲ advancing surveillance systems were also included.
Additionally, to prepare for the post-COVID-19 era, new strategic tasks such as financial soundness and tourism industry recovery support were established, and tasks to enhance internal and external customer safety, improve organizational and personnel operation efficiency, and innovate work processes were strengthened.
GKL plans to submit the mid-to-long-term management goals to the government by the 31st in accordance with laws related to the operation of public institutions.
