Exhibition of Artworks Created by 370 Young Artists at Eulji Twin Tower B1 from October 30 to November 1... '100,000 Won Art Fair' Held to Promote Art Purchase Experience... Open to Everyone
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Yang-ho) is hosting the 'Eulji Art Fair' organized by the Jung-gu Cultural Foundation on the basement first floor of Eulji Twin Tower (170 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu).
Now in its second year, the Eulji Art Fair is an event designed to lower the barriers to purchasing art, allowing anyone to easily access and experience buying artworks.
All artworks here are priced uniformly at 100,000 KRW regardless of size, enabling citizens to purchase art without significant financial burden.
Agreeing with the art fair’s purpose of 'expanding the experience of purchasing artworks to more people,' the number of participating artists increased from 129 last year to 370 this year.
All exhibited works can be viewed free of charge, but sales are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue. Last year, 82% of the exhibited works were sold, showing great enthusiasm, so those interested in purchasing should hurry.
The event period is from October 30 to November 1.
The Eulji Art Fair also runs the Eulji Art Prize, which awards 1,000,000 KRW each to five artists who demonstrate meaningful artistic activity and potential for future growth through portfolio screening. On the first day of the event, the Eulji Art Prize award ceremony will take place, and on the last day, there will be a talk program featuring a dialogue between the Eulji Art Prize winners and judges, as well as a Q&A session with the curator.
The Eulji Art Fair opens at 6 PM on October 30, and will operate from 10 AM to 8 PM on the remaining two days.
Entry to the venue is on a first-come, first-served basis, but to prevent COVID-19 spread, the simultaneous capacity is limited to 80 people.
All artworks can also be viewed online, and through 'KT Super VR,' visitors can enjoy voice commentary and VR viewing.
Seo Yang-ho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "Creating a sustainable art ecosystem requires various approaches. For this, in Jung-gu Euljiro, where young creators gather, we aim not only to support artistic creation but also to allow many people to easily access, enjoy, and share the experience of purchasing artworks."
