Easy and Fun Explanation of Key Points in the 2019 Fiscal Year Settlement Report by the Responsible Public Official

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) produced a video to help residents easily understand the 2019 fiscal year settlement report, a financial report on last year's district budget.

Until now, the settlement report disclosed to residents was over 1,000 pages long, including revenue and expenditure settlements, financial statements, performance reports, and 22 types of attachments, making it difficult for residents to access.

Accordingly, in August, the district collected opinions from residents on major financial issues of the district, and based on this, produced a video summarizing the key contents of the settlement report.

The video covers ▲ Gwangjin-gu's accounting status ▲ overall and detailed revenue and expenditure status ▲ Gwangjin-gu's financial statements and financial condition and operation status ▲ explanations of financial terms, with the responsible official appearing directly to explain easily and interestingly using charts and graphs.

Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “The settlement report is a financial report on the annual management of the local government and is disclosed to residents every year, but due to unfamiliar financial terms and extensive materials, it may be difficult for residents to understand. I hope this video will serve as an opportunity to increase residents' understanding and interest in the district's finances.”
