[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Yoo Myung-hee, the Chief Trade Negotiator of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, was found to be trailing behind Nigeria's Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, her competitor, in the preference survey for the next Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Major foreign media reported on the 28th (local time) that the WTO has proposed Okonjo-Iweala to lead the organization.
However, the final selection of the WTO Director-General requires a consensus among the 164 WTO member countries.
