[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is easing the criteria for emergency livelihood support for households in crisis and extending the application period until the 6th of next month.
According to Haman-gun on the 28th, the original criteria targeted low-income households whose earned income or business income decreased by 25% or more compared to before the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but with the relaxed criteria, households in crisis such as those with income reduction can also apply.
The emergency livelihood support for households in crisis is aimed at households struggling to make a living due to income reduction caused by job loss or business suspension due to COVID-19. After investigating income reduction status, income and assets, overlap with existing welfare systems and other COVID-19 damage support programs, from November to December, cash payments will be made once to the applied account according to the number of household members: 400,000 KRW for a single-person household, 600,000 KRW for a two-person household, 800,000 KRW for a three-person household, and 1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
At the time of payment, if the income or sales reduction rate is 25% or more, payment will be prioritized, and in other cases, after confirming income reduction, payment will be decided according to priority within the budget. Households including recipients of basic livelihood benefits and emergency welfare livelihood support, other COVID-19 emergency support program beneficiaries, job seekers' allowance recipients, and public officials or public institution workers are excluded from eligibility.
Applications can be made online or in person until 6 PM on the 6th of next month. Online applications are available 24 hours including weekends via Bokjiro or Mobile Bokjiro. Applications at eup/myeon offices can be made during business hours excluding weekends.
