[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) announced on the 28th that it has signed an 'AI Big Data Specialized Talent Training Agreement' with SBCN Co., Ltd., a leading company in artificial intelligence robo-advisors (Co-CEOs Son Sanghyun and Lee Seungyeop).
On the same day, Honam University President Park Sangcheol and SBCN Co-CEOs Son Sanghyun and Lee Seungyeop agreed to join forces for industry-academia education and joint research to lead AI-centered universities.
Through this agreement, both institutions will establish specialized talent training courses to strengthen education in the AI and big data fields and cooperate in nurturing IT talents specialized in AI data.
Specifically, they will ▲conduct field training and internship programs ▲build AI education and practice environments ▲strengthen industry-academia research and internal and external cooperation.
Along with this, through industry-academia education and joint research to lead AI-centered universities, they expect to enhance synergy effects between data-specialized companies and educational institutions by sharing various information and cooperating related to the creation of AI industry convergence complexes and maintaining a continuous mutual cooperation system.
Honam University President Park Sangcheol said, “Honam University, selected as an innovation-leading university for the 4th Industrial Revolution, is accelerating the establishment of educational innovation plans that can actively respond to future societal changes. Taking this agreement with SBCN, a specialized AI robo-advisor company, as an opportunity, we will actively produce talents in the AI field of the financial sector and further strengthen industry-academia cooperation with companies to nurture AI talents in the Honam region.”
SBCN Co-CEOs Son Sanghyun and Lee Seungyeop stated, “SBCN plans to establish an AI and big data center in Gwangju, the ‘AI-centered city Gwangju’ hub. Accordingly, we will nurture and hire customized AI talents in the region together with Honam University.”
Meanwhile, since the 2020 academic year, Honam University has been providing AI basic education to students of all departments and majors, establishing an AI convergence education system that cultivates the ability to integrate AI, and is fostering all students as ‘SW (Software) experts’ along with creating an ‘AI (Artificial Intelligence) Convergence Campus’ for ‘AI+X’ (AI convergence) talent development.
SBCN is a financial AI company that provides data and robo-advisors through a financial big data platform to domestic securities firms and financial institutions. Utilizing the accumulated technology so far, it plans to provide education and internship recruitment tailored to Honam University for talent development.
