Outdoor Drive-In Theater Reservation Rates Steadily Increasing

On the 28th at 6 PM, the announcement of the winners in the competition section is scheduled.

According to the festival organizers, since the opening on the 23rd of this month until the 26th, 1,143 viewers visited the drive-in theater, with a vehicle occupancy rate of 82.6%.

The outdoor drive-in theater is a screening method newly introduced this year by the festival to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The festival organizers explained that the satisfaction level of audiences using the outdoor theater is high, leading to frequent repeat visits, and the weekday reservation rate is gradually increasing.

The festival is screening films on an outdoor stage using a giant screen measuring 17 meters wide and 10 meters tall, along with 7-channel surround sound.

During the first weekend after the opening, from the 24th to the 25th, the festival held three screenings per day. From the 26th until the closing day on November 1st, one screening is held every evening, attracting the attention of film fans.

A festival official said, “Evaluations of the drive-in theater operation and the screened films are continuing through SNS,” adding, “We will devote our efforts until the closing day to successfully conclude this new screening method introduced in the COVID-19 era.”
