[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 28th that it held a Cadastral Resurvey Committee meeting at the City Hall Multipurpose Hall and designated Dong-gu Dongmyeong 1 District, Seo-gu Seochang and Maewol Districts, Nam-gu Seokjeong District, Sinjang District, Buk-gu Jangdeung District, Gwangsan-gu Dongho 1 District, Dongho 2 District, Dujeong 1 District, and Dujeong 2 District as cadastral resurvey project districts for 2020.
The 10 districts designated as project districts consist of 3,611 parcels totaling 1,671,381㎡. Gwangju City will select survey and measurement agents for these project districts and implement the project by confirming the boundaries of each parcel through resurvey measurements.
Prior to the designation of the project districts, the autonomous districts held resident briefing sessions for project promotion and obtained consent forms from landowners within the project districts as part of the preparatory procedures.
The cadastral resurvey project is a national project being implemented step-by-step from 2012 to 2030 under the "Special Act on Cadastral Resurvey."
The project aims to conduct field surveys and measurements on paper cadastral maps created between 1910 and 1918 to identify the actual land use status and correct boundary discrepancies with the cadastral maps.
Upon completion of the cadastral resurvey project, land boundaries will be clarified, disputes resolved, property rights clearly defined, and costs associated with cadastral surveying reduced.
Since 2012, Gwangju City has designated a total of 51 project districts and has completed 33 of them as of this month.
Lee Su-won, Director of the Land Information Division of the city, stated, "Through the cadastral resurvey project, which will continue until 2030, we will do our best to correct land information that does not match the current status, enhance land use value, and protect citizens' property rights."
