Finding Work-Life Balance: Online Expo Next Month

Sharing Best Practices and Considering Policy Directions

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government Work-Life Balance Support Center will hold the 2nd Work-Life Balance Expo on the 12th of next month. At this expo, excellent cases of work-life balance practices directly implemented by companies will be shared, and discussions will be held on the future policy directions. Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the event will be simplified and conducted online.

Among the companies that received consulting from the Work-Life Balance Support Center, nine outstanding companies will be selected and awarded. Since 2014, a total of 135 companies and institutions have received consulting. Up to 2019, a total of 41 companies were selected as outstanding companies.

This year, a conference will be held on the theme of work-life balance issues that have changed after COVID-19. Prior to the event, the Work-Life Balance Support Center is conducting a survey asking citizens about changes in their work-life balance due to COVID-19 and collecting policy opinions.

Song Dayoung, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government Women and Family Policy Office, said, "Women’s caregiving labor is increasing, and cases of delaying reinstatement or pressuring female workers to resign are on the rise," adding, "We will strive to reflect the results from this conference in Seoul’s policies."
