[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on the 28th that Chairman Jo Bonghwan visited the Jongno District Office in Seoul to inspect the on-site reception status of the Small Business New Hope Fund.
The on-site inspection was arranged to directly listen to the difficulties faced by small business owners and local government officials during the New Hope Fund application process. SEMAS has also opened KakaoTalk open chat rooms for six regional zones to respond to on-site inquiries in real time, ensuring smooth local government reception.
SEMAS is providing the New Hope Fund to small business owners experiencing management difficulties such as decreased sales due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). As of the 27th of this month, out of 2.46 million rapid payment recipients, funds have been disbursed to 2.15 million small business owners.
Chairman Jo Bonghwan of SEMAS stated, "The New Hope Fund is regarded as a whole-of-government policy cooperation case for 6.4 million small business owners and a culmination of proactive administration," adding, "Along with the cooperation of individual local governments for on-site reception for small business owners who find online applications difficult, we will continue to support small business owners facing management difficulties to quickly regain business stability."
