Lotte GRS Tests 'Wearable Robot' to Support Delivery Operations and Strengthen DT Capabilities

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Sunghye] Lotte GRS announced on the 28th that it will conduct a one-month test operation of a wearable robot device called the 'wearable robot' at the Lotteria Castlepra branch located in Jamsil.

The wearable robot being tested by Lotte GRS is the ExaW model developed by ExoAthlete Asia, a company specializing in exoskeleton walking assistance. It is currently used in logistics centers and is a non-powered ergonomic robot that can reduce weight by up to 16 kg.

Lotte GRS plans to conduct tests on various work areas utilizing robots, including improving work productivity and reducing the risk of accidents in sales stores, through the wearable robot that can reduce the burden on workers' waists during raw material delivery unloading tasks and decrease injuries and accidents.

Currently, Lotte GRS has deployed autonomous serving robot Penny devices at the Villard Charlotte store in Lotte World Mall, Jamsil, and the TGI Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport branch, where the robots directly serve tables and are also used for events such as providing various discount coupons within the shopping mall. With the introduction of the wearable robot, Lotte GRS is exploring additional robot utilization plans, such as autonomous 'delivery cart robots,' to simplify raw material delivery tasks and enhance convenience in sales stores.
