Na Kyung-won: "Moon Administration Dictates Even How People Buy Houses"

Na Kyung-won: "Moon Administration Dictates Even How People Buy Houses" Former Floor Leader of the United Future Party Na Kyung-won, who was indicted over the 20th National Assembly fast-track (rapid processing agenda) clash incident, is responding to reporters' questions before attending the first trial held last month at the Southern District Court in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. [Asia Economy reporters Han Seung-gon and Kim Young-eun] Na Kyung-won, former member of the Future United Party (now the People Power Party), pointed out on the 27th, "The Moon Jae-in administration caused a surge in prices and even a jeonse crisis with its faulty real estate policies, and now it is threatening the 'freedom of residence relocation' as well."

On the same day, Na shared an article on her Facebook about the government's restriction on moving within designated land transaction permission zones, saying, "I am dumbfounded; it is utterly absurd. I cannot believe this is happening in our country."

She added, "When will the shock of this unprecedented country finally end?" and stated, "This is a clear overreach of authority and a violation of fundamental rights."

She also criticized, "When the constitutional amendment to expand the public concept of land was proposed earlier, I said, 'Our country will become one where you cannot freely buy or sell your own home.' Even without that, it is already difficult to find jeonse due to the hasty three lease laws, deepening conflicts between landlords and tenants, and now they are even blocking sales. Who gave them the right to dictate how citizens buy homes?"

She continued, "If anyone is interested, I will step forward to take on free administrative lawsuits," and asked, "If there are parties involved in similar cases, please leave a message."

Earlier, the government designated areas including Seocho-gu, Yongsan-gu, Gangnam-gu, Gangseo-gu in Seoul, and parts of Gyeonggi Province as land transaction permission zones in the June 17 real estate measures. As a result, cases have been reported where residents in these areas face restrictions on moving.
