[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Emart24 will fully cover the insurance costs for disaster and cash theft damages at all franchise stores. A new legal and labor advisory service, freely available to all franchise stores, will also be introduced.
On the 27th, Emart24 held a win-win agreement ceremony with the Franchise Store Owners' Association, a group representing Emart24 franchisees, at the company's headquarters conference room in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by Kim Jang-wook, CEO of Emart24, along with executives and the chairman and management team of the Franchise Store Owners' Association representing the franchisees.
First, Emart24 franchise stores will be covered for losses due to fire, wind and flood damage, store damage, and cash theft by outsiders. Newly signed franchise contracts will also receive the same insurance benefits immediately upon contract signing.
Emart24 has prepared a win-win plan to fully support insurance costs to prepare for any unforeseen incidents or accidents that may occur during franchise store operations. This will allow franchisees not only to receive actual coverage when incidents occur but also to feel psychological stability in daily operations, enabling them to focus solely on running their stores.
A legal and labor advisory service will also be introduced. Starting November 2, Emart24 will offer franchisees consultations with law firms on labor-related issues concerning employees and legal matters related to commercial lease agreements necessary for store operations. This service will cover not only store-related issues but also personal legal advice. Emart24 established this service after considering ways to help franchise owners operate their stores more stably, identifying legal and labor advisory services as one of the most challenging areas.
Alongside existing win-win efforts, Emart24 expects the new win-win system outlined in this agreement to play a positive role in mutual growth with franchise stores.
In fact, Emart24 has been operating regular consultative bodies with the Franchise Store Owners' Association and established a Win-Win Cooperation Mediation Committee last year to expand communication channels with franchisees. Through this communication, by listening to each other's voices, since August this year, support measures have been put in place allowing franchise owners, their immediate family members, and employees to receive discounts on comprehensive health checkups.
Kim Jang-wook, CEO of Emart24, said, "Through this win-win agreement ceremony, I hope Emart24 and franchise stores can better understand each other's positions and build greater trust," adding, "We will continue to strive to grow together with our franchise stores."
