[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 28th that Permit, a smart farm solution company, and Toz, a design change prevention simulator company, successfully secured 100 million KRW each in seed investment at the final investment attraction presentation of the '2020 Global Startup School' held at COEX in Samseong-dong.
The Trade Association and Big Bang Angels, a global deep tech accelerator (AC), have been discovering promising domestic startups with high potential for overseas expansion and providing education and mentoring through the 'Global Startup School' course since last September. In particular, Big Bang Angels participated in the entire education process as the operator and also established a dedicated fund for seed-stage investment.
At the investment attraction presentation, eight teams selected through three rounds of investor relations (IR) competitions participated, along with about 30 stakeholders including domestic accelerators (AC) and venture capitalists (VC) as investors.
According to the Trade Association, Permit and Toz have already secured 100 million KRW each in seed investment from the dedicated fund established by Big Bang Angels. Additionally, six companies including Baeryeo, a microorganism-based antioxidant substance manufacturer; Wellpep, a peptide new drug development company; BioFriends, a nano-based mask filter developer; ReHarvest, a food upcycling company; Realiner, a transparent aligner company; and Altix, an AI-based blood test solution company, are expected to receive investments through future investment commitments and negotiations.
