Gwangju Shinsegae Hosts 'Korea Fashion Market Season 2'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghoon) announced on the 27th that it will hold the large-scale special discount sale event for fashion products, ‘Korea Fashion Market Season 2,’ to support the fashion industry in overcoming COVID-19.


As part of the 2020 Korea Sale Festa hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, discounts of up to 60% will be offered from the 30th of this month to the 5th of next month.


The first season was introduced for the first time at Shinsegae Gangnam Store in June.


This event will be held at Gwangju Shinsegae, as well as Gangnam Store, Centum City Store, and Daegu Shinsegae.


By expanding the stores, it is expected to provide practical help in inventory clearance and securing cash liquidity for the fashion industry, which has been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.


Participating brands include Galaxy, Galaxy Lifestyle, Cambridge, LAP, Bonis Pax, Buckaroo, TBJ, Countemara Shirts, Wide Angle, and Monochrome.


Among them, LAP, Bonis Pax, Buckaroo, TBJ, Countemara Shirts, Wide Angle, and Monochrome will also be sold online simultaneously.


This Korea Fashion Market will involve both online and offline stores of Lotte, Shinsegae, and Hyundai Department Store, and professional online platforms such as Naver, Musinsa, and W Concept are expected to participate.


Additionally, about 270 fashion brands including women’s, men’s, casual, outdoor, golf, children’s, and accessories will participate, offering various products at unprecedented prices through special discount sales.


Moreover, Gwangju Shinsegae has prepared a win-win event with local farms and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).


In collaboration with Shinhan Card, they will introduce the ‘Shinsegae Win-Win Package’ containing processed foods worth about 50,000 won, such as natural honey and organic plum syrup made by local farms and SMEs. This will be held from the 6th to the 12th of next month.


A total of 10,000 units have been prepared, and during the event period, it will be sold for 10,000 won with the Shinsegae Shinhan Card.


Purchases will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 6th of next month, and pre-purchase applications can be made through the Shinsegae Department Store app from 6 p.m. on the 5th.


Furthermore, Gwangju Shinsegae, along with the main store, Gangnam Store, and Centum City Store, has prepared a ‘Special Exhibition for Excellent SMEs’ in cooperation with Shinsegae and the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center.
