Pope's Handwritten Letter to President Moon: "Praying for You and Peace" Pope Francis is celebrating Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican on September 28th (local time).


Pope Francis sent a handwritten message to President Moon Jae-in saying, "I pray for you and for peace," the Blue House announced on the 27th.


Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated in a briefing that "Pope Francis conveyed this message to Ambassador Lee Baek-man, the outgoing Apostolic Nuncio to Korea, during his farewell visit on the 23rd."


In the letter, Pope Francis said, "I send my sincere greetings to President Moon and the people of Korea," and added, "Please pray for me as well."


In another handwritten letter, Pope Francis said, "On the 200th anniversary of the birth of Saint Kim Dae-geon Andrea, I send my heartfelt greetings to the beloved people of the Republic of Korea," and "May the Lord bless you and the Virgin Mary protect you." He also added, "Please do not forget to pray for me."


In response, President Moon sent a reply expressing his gratitude to Pope Francis, Kang explained.


Kang said, "Last month on the 6th, Pope Francis also conveyed a verbal message through the Apostolic Nuncio to Korea, wishing peace and prosperity to President Moon and the Korean people," and added, "He consistently sends messages of blessing, praying for peace on the Korean Peninsula for the Korean people and President Moon."
