[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in will deliver a policy speech at the National Assembly at 10 a.m. on the 28th under the theme of "A Nation Strong in Crisis."


Kang Min-seok, the Blue House spokesperson, stated on the 27th, "President Moon Jae-in will give a policy speech at the National Assembly tomorrow morning. The part President Moon will emphasize in the 2021 budget policy speech is ‘A Nation Strong in Crisis’."


Spokesperson Kang emphasized, "This year, South Korea, as well as the entire world, faced an unprecedented crisis simultaneously. In February, our country had the second highest number of confirmed cases in the world," adding, "As of October 27, eight months later, our country has become a model for the world in quarantine efforts."

Spokesperson Kang said, "There was also news today that after overcoming negative growth in the first half of the year, the GDP growth rate rebounded to 1.9% in the third quarter," adding, "Based on the success in quarantine, South Korea is considered the fastest recovering economy among OECD countries. This is why President Moon emphasizes that we are a nation strong in crisis."


Spokesperson Kang explained, "President Moon plans to express his deep gratitude to the Korean people who created hope amid an unprecedented crisis and to reveal how, through the budget, the government will achieve simultaneous success in quarantine and the economy next year to firmly establish a nation strong in crisis."
