Gwangyang Women's Saero Ilhagi Center Completes Step-by-Step Post-Employment Management

Promoting Job Settlement through Post-Employment Support by Employment Type

Gwangyang Women's Saero Ilhagi Center Completes Step-by-Step Post-Employment Management

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang Women's New Employment Center successfully completed the post-management support project for women who found jobs through the center.

The post-management support project is an employment retention support program designed to help job holders settle into their positions and prevent career interruptions due to conflicts with colleagues or supervisors, work maladaptation, or burdens related to household chores and child-rearing after employment.

Before proceeding with the post-management support project, the city selected the project based on the results derived from a demand survey that identified the types and actual conditions of job holders. Considering factors such as the age and employment period of the job holders, step-by-step post-management services were provided from stage 1 to stage 3.

The first stage of post-management, "New Employment First Pay Day!", is a project for initial workplace adaptation of employees within 1 to 3 months of employment. Employment counselors visited the workplaces of employed women to check their working conditions and provided emotional support for workplace adaptation (such as grievance counseling and verification of employment contract compliance) along with gifts.

The second stage, "One-Day Class with Mom," is a project to alleviate the burden of work-family balance for employees with less than six months of employment. A professional instructor was invited to conduct a cooking class where mothers and children made pizza together, and participants showed high satisfaction.

The final third stage, "Child Learning and Career Coaching," targets employees within one year of employment and aims to relieve the common anxiety of working moms regarding their children's education. Mothers and children participated together in a career camp, received one-on-one individual counseling with a professional instructor, and underwent customized educational assessments and career exploration tailored to their children.

Im Jin, director of the Gwangyang Women's New Employment Center, said, “The center is preparing various measures to support the employment of women with career interruptions and the employment stability of employed women,” adding, “We will continue to implement substantial programs to ensure that many re-employed women can work stably.”
