[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] POSCO International was selected as the grand prize winner in the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) category at the 2020 Excellent Companies Awards hosted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) on the 27th. This marks the second consecutive year winning the grand prize.
The Korea Corporate Governance Service is an organization that conducts evaluations, research, and investigations on corporate governance, social responsibility, and environmental management. Every year, it conducts ESG evaluations on about 900 listed companies in Korea and has been publicly announcing evaluation grades since 2012.
POSCO International received an A in environmental management, an A in social responsibility management, and an A+ in corporate governance from KCGS, achieving an overall integrated grade of A+ for two consecutive years, including last year.
A POSCO International official stated, “In response to the demands of the international community, all employees are striving to proactively change for the company’s sustainable growth,” adding, “We are actively responding to ESG evaluations and carrying out activities to create non-financial value, including continuous publication of sustainability reports.”
