[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is actively promoting a support project for the disposal of old slate roofs to prevent asbestos scattering in advance, thereby preventing health damage to residents and improving a pleasant living environment.
On the 27th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it plans to invest 1.5 billion KRW in 2021 to support the dismantling and disposal costs of old slate roofs.
In 2021, Boseong-gun set a policy to demolish 420 old residential slate houses, supporting up to 3.44 million KRW for houses, 1.74 million KRW for non-residential buildings under 50㎡, and up to 6.88 million KRW for buildings over 51㎡ and up to 200㎡, with differential support.
In particular, vulnerable groups will be supported up to 6.1 million KRW not only for slate roof disposal but also for roof renovation costs.
Those who wish to receive slate disposal support should submit a slate disposal support application form to the eup/myeon office where the building is located by December 4th. After an on-site survey of the slate area, demolition work will be carried out according to the schedule.
A county official said, “We will actively support the dismantling of old slate directly related to residents' health,” and added, “We hope for interest and participation.”
