[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is conducting 'Youth Policy Capacity Building' education as part of the Dongjak-gu Youth Policy Governance Activation Support Project.
The Youth Policy Governance Activation Support Project, which was finally selected in the Seoul City public contest last December, is jointly promoted by local youth and the district to expand youth communication and policy participation and realize policies reflecting diverse needs.
In June this year, the formation of the Dongjak Youth Policy Network consisting of 29 members across four thematic committees?jobs, places to stand, places to play, and places to live?was completed, and they actively discovered youth policies, proposing them during the Seoul City Youth Autonomous Budgeting process. As a result, a total of 250 million KRW was selected for four projects.
In November, the district plans to hold the 'Dongjak Youth Policy Public Forum' and 'Performance Report Meeting' to report on the achievements of the network activities so far and explore the development direction of Dongjak-gu youth policies in 2021.
Also, on the 29th and 30th at 3 PM, the district will conduct 'Youth Policy Capacity Building Education' online in a non-face-to-face format.
The participants are 40 youths aged 39 or younger who are members of the Dongjak Youth Policy Network or interested in policies, and applications can be submitted by filling out a Google Form by the 28th.
The education will be led by instructors affiliated with the Seoul City Youth Policy Committee and the Youth Foundation, covering the development process, direction, and key youth policies.
The curriculum on the 29th includes ▲ the development process and direction of youth policies ▲ major youth policies of central and local governments ▲ the meaning and necessity of youth policy participation ▲ and examples of youth policy discovery activities.
On the 30th, the program covers ▲ major housing policies for youth ▲ practical housing tips ▲ and key youth job policies from employment to start-ups.
After the education, the district plans to conduct a satisfaction survey on topics, content, and instructor preparedness to reflect in future project implementation.
For more details, contact the Dongjak-gu Office Job Policy Division.
Yoon So-yeon, Head of the Job Policy Division, said, “Through this education, we aim to provide youth with a good opportunity to understand the development and direction of youth policies and to create their future through proactive policy participation.”
The district is operating a 'Computerized Accounting Expert Training Course' at the Noryangjin Youth Job Center until November 24 for 20 people aged 18 to under 39, including university students and job seekers.
