Gwangju Sarang Nanum Community, Spreading Warm Sharing with Small Hearts

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gwangju Sarang Nanum Community (Representative Ju Jaehwan) announced on the 26th that they conducted a mask strap and companion plant making program with developmentally disabled individuals from Hanul Daycare Center for the Disabled on the 24th.

On that day, the program involved sharing the creations made by participants with nursing homes, shops, and neighbors who are going through difficult times due to COVID-19 as part of a sharing activity. The schedule concluded with a business agreement ceremony, awards for outstanding activists, and sharing of activity impressions.

Hong Nayoung (Eoryong Elementary School), a participating student, said, "The most difficult part of making the mask strap was sewing," and added, "On the other hand, making the companion plant was very fun because the flowers were pretty and it was easy to make."

Kim Soonmi, head of the Operations Support Team, expressed her hopes for the activity, saying, "I hope the good sharing activities conducted by the community will be well conveyed as a social influence."

Yang Ilok, a member of the Buk-gu Council, said, "I believe that local institutions have sown the seeds to become a warm community by fostering voluntary self-sustainability through cooperative relationships and practicing more sharing."
