[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Following Woori Bank, a KB Kookmin Bank executive has also tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to KB Kookmin Bank on the 26th, an executive at the head of department level working on the 18th floor of The K Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the same day. The infection occurred during a course attended by the executive and a Woori Bank executive who tested positive on the 24th; both are enrolled in the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the same university.
Accordingly, KB Kookmin Bank closed the 18th floor and instructed employees working on that floor and those who may have had contact to work from home and undergo COVID-19 testing. Yoon Jong-kyu, Chairman of KB Financial Group, and Hur In, President of KB Kookmin Bank, who work in another building (head office) in Yeouido, did not undergo COVID-19 testing.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 among bank executives, Kwon Kwang-seok, President of Woori Bank, and Hur In, President of KB Kookmin Bank, did not attend the Bankers Association board meeting held at 5:20 p.m. that day.
