[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Shin Myung-geun) announced on the 26th that photographer Jeong Byeong-su recently donated two works.
Marking his 70th birthday this year with an "Artist Family Exhibition," the works donated by photographer Jeong capture a sea of clouds near Guksabong in Imsil, Jeonbuk, and the grassland scenery of the Pye-sang area in Inner Mongolia.
From the 5th to the 30th of this month, Jeong is holding a unique family exhibition on the 2nd floor art lobby of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital together with his younger sister, Oriental painter Jeong Hae-eun, and his niece, Western painter Kim Su-jin.
Under the theme "Landscape·Nature... Into a Beautiful World," the exhibition features about 30 works including photographs and Eastern and Western paintings, receiving favorable reviews from visitors.
He also served as the former mayor of Hwasun-eup and worked as a public official for 35 years, actively engaging in artistic activities while serving as the inaugural head of the Hwasun County branch of the Korea Photographers Association.
During his tenure, he took the lead in widely promoting the hidden charms of Hwasun, such as "Seryangji," "Hwansanjeong," "Love Tree," and "Unjusa."
Photographer Jeong Byeong-su said, "I worked as a section chief at Hwasun County Office when the construction of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital began, and I have witnessed its development from an empty field into a global cancer hospital. I intend to hold this exhibition here and donate my works as a way to conclude over 30 years of artistic activity. I hope it contributes to the speedy recovery of patients and also helps in the healing of visitors."
