Samjin Food Holds Two-Week Promotional Sales Tour at 17 Costco Locations
Targets Housewives with Popular Products Like 'Our Family's Picky Eomuk'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Samjin Food's representative fish cake brand, Samjin Eomuk, will embark on a nationwide "roadshow" at 17 Costco locations across the country until May next year.
At the roadshow, Samjin Eomuk will showcase its new product "Our Family's Meticulous Fish Cake" along with various popular fish cake items.
Samjin Eomuk's "Our Family's Meticulous Fish Cake" is a high-protein, low-fat product with 30% reduced sodium content, focusing on "health" as the key feature of this new product.
Samjin Food plans to target housewives who are sensitive about family health to promote this product.
During the roadshow, a "Samjin Eomuk Small Package Set" will also be launched, which includes small packages of highly versatile items for soups, stews, and side dishes such as Special Square, Cheon Oranda, Triangle Dangmyeon, Spicy Pepper Roll, Squid Ball, and Fish Cake Soup.
Additionally, the "Samjin Eomuk One Meal Fish Cake Set," consisting of Tteokmal-i Eomuk (rice cake wrapped fish cake), Masal Mal-i Eomuk (imitation crab wrapped fish cake), Ddak Han-kki (stir-fry fish cake), and Ddak Han-kki Fish Cake Soup (mild flavor), which are great for drinking alone, snacks, and children's treats, will also be introduced to the market.
This is the fourth year that Samjin Eomuk's nationwide Costco store roadshow is being held. From the 26th to November 7th, the roadshow will take place at the Costco Sejong branch.
Following that, roadshows are scheduled at the Uijeongbu, Gwangmyeong, Yangjae, Ilsan, Sangbong, Yangpyeong, Hanam, Ulsan, Daegu, Daegu Innovation, Busan, Gongse, and Songdo branches.
Kim Tae-sung, Head of Sales at Samjin Eomuk, said, "As the weather gets colder, the number of customers consuming fish cakes is increasing."
Since 2017, Samjin Eomuk has been continuously selling "Samjin Eomuk Traditional Fish Cake Soup Assortment" and "Samjin Eomuk Fisherman's Bar," which are highly versatile for cooking and snacks, at Costcos nationwide. According to Samjin Eomuk, these products have consistently maintained high sales compared to similar food categories since their introduction.
Samjin Eomuk was recognized by related organizations and officials when it introduced its "Low Sodium Square Fish Cake" at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety booth during the 2019 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition. It also plans to participate in the "2020 Busan International Fisheries Expo" to showcase various fish cake products.
