[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] On the 26th, Lee Myung-hee, chairwoman of Shinsegae Group and younger sister of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who passed away on the 25th, visited the funeral hall and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.


At around 2:30 PM that day, Chairwoman Lee visited the Samsung Seoul Hospital funeral hall along with Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin, General Manager Chung Yoo-kyung, Shinsegae President Cha Jung-ho, Emart President Kang Hee-seok, and other group company presidents to pay their respects.


She met with the bereaved family, including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, expressing deep condolences and words of comfort.


Chairman Lee Kun-hee passed away at the age of 78 on the 25th at Samsung Seoul Hospital in Irwon-dong, Seoul. This was six years after he collapsed from acute myocardial infarction at his home in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, in May 2014.
