Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju '29th Residents' Day' Commemoration Ceremony Held at Nambu University

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will hold the 29th Gwangsan Residents' Day commemorative ceremony under the slogan "With Corona, Together with Citizens! Thanks to the Citizens!" on the 31st at the parking lot of Nambu University.

The ceremony will be conducted in a drive-in viewing format to suit the daily environment of COVID-19.

In accordance with quarantine guidelines, Gwangsan-gu plans to disinfect the venue in advance and set it up as a drive-in theater so that citizens can safely enjoy the event.

Additionally, it will support citizens' online real-time viewing through YouTube streaming.

The district will present the Residents' Award at the ceremony. This year, six individuals, including Jang Sung-gyu, president of the Gwangsan-gu Tennis Association in the field of recreational sports, were selected as awardees through recommendation and screening.

Furthermore, Ms. Kim Wasana, a marriage immigrant woman from Thailand, will receive the Foreign Residents' Award for her efforts in immigrant settlement and harmony.

The commemorative event will proceed in the order of screening a video on the footsteps of Gwangsan-gu, the awards ceremony, delivery of congratulatory messages, and congratulatory performances. After the ceremony, the 'Asia Culture Festival,' where native residents and immigrants enjoy together, will follow.
