[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang Yonggang Library has started promoting and exhibiting books recommended by resident writers to spread a reading culture in the local community.
The recommended books include "Testimony of y" by poet Byeon Young-hee, a resident writer at Yonggang Library, the collection of works by last year's resident writer program participants titled "When Poetry is Baked in the Oven," and "Gandhi's Spinning Wheel," a book recommended by the writer, among about 50 other titles.
Currently, the library is operating the "Prose Journey to Find Myself" program under the resident writer support project, and plans to produce and publish a collection of works by participants in December this year.
Gwangyang Yonggang Library is a library operating the "Resident Writer Support Project," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, and has received national funding for two consecutive years to carry out various programs.
