[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Cisco Systems and Ginians have decided to collaborate in the fields of Software Defined Access (SDA) and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
Ginians announced on the 26th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic business cooperation at Cisco Korea headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 23rd.
As the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spreads worldwide, companies are actively adopting remote work. IT administrators in companies need to identify devices connecting to the network and apply security policies. SDA automatically recognizes users' terminals at the network level and applies appropriate settings or policies accordingly. Automation functions are essential to enhance the efficiency of IT infrastructure management. It helps IT departments within companies manage networks flexibly and proactively and oversee remote workers.
Cisco and Ginians will focus on preparing for the increasing demand for SDA and NAC systems and developing new markets. They plan to develop next-generation SDA and NAC technologies and create new service models to attract customers.
Following the signing of the MoU, Cisco will share its SDA lab, as well as the C9K series, DNA-C appliances, and ISE servers with Ginians, and begin product development tailored to the domestic market. Ginians will also share its labs and related products with Cisco to respond to the development of products with enhanced features.
Jobeomgu, CEO of Cisco Korea, said, "SDA and NAC are solutions that respond immediately to rapidly changing IT environments and maximize user convenience," adding, "Cisco will utilize Ginians' technological capabilities to jointly develop new products and contribute to market revitalization."
Dongbeom Lee, CEO of Ginians, explained, "We have maintained a continuous technical cooperation relationship with Cisco, which holds global leadership in the SDA field," and added, "Through the development of next-generation network technologies, we will complete groundbreaking IT infrastructure that leads the new normal and untact environments."
