Over 40 Years of Accumulated HVAC Technology Expertise
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] KBI Group announced on the 26th that the ionizer developed by its affiliate KB Autotech will be supplied to Mercedes-Benz in a deal worth 16 billion KRW.
KB Autotech is a company specializing in air conditioning. According to the company, they have received the final confirmation notice regarding the order contract for the ionizer to be installed in various upcoming electric vehicle models such as the EQS and S-Class, which will be produced by Mercedes-Benz's purchasing headquarters.
The ionizer is a product that demonstrates KB Autotech's accumulated air conditioning technology over more than 40 years. It generates negative ions inside the vehicle to maintain clean air through sterilization and deodorization.
Through this order contract worth a total of 16 billion KRW, KBI Group expects the ionizer to be applied to 20 models, including the aforementioned vehicles, which Mercedes-Benz will mass-produce from 2023 to 2030.
A KB Autotech official stated, "This successful order is a recognition of KB Autotech's unique air conditioning technology by Mercedes-Benz, which is strict about performance and quality control," adding, "Building on this contract, we will devote all efforts to developing parts for next-generation electric and hydrogen electric vehicles and accelerate the exploration of export markets through aggressive order activities."
