[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 26th that all tested staff members of 32 local nursing institutions received negative results after undergoing comprehensive COVID-19 testing.
Amid recent cluster outbreaks of COVID-19 in nursing hospitals in the Seoul metropolitan area and Busan, the county promoted comprehensive COVID-19 testing for nursing institution staff to block "silent transmission" and protect users of vulnerable facilities.
Previously, from the 19th to the 23rd, the county conducted comprehensive COVID-19 testing on a total of 1,486 staff members at 32 nursing institutions, and all tested negative.
Additionally, to minimize contact with outsiders at medical institutions such as nursing hospitals where cluster outbreaks are a concern, visits are restricted to non-contact visits.
The county is also making efforts to block COVID-19 by frequently inspecting overall quarantine rules, including strengthening visitor management, appointing quarantine managers, checking for fever and suspicious symptoms in outsiders, and excluding suspicious staff from work.
A health center official stated, "Although social distancing has been eased, the county is maintaining vigilance and making every effort to respond to COVID-19," and added, "To prevent the spread within the region, active cooperation from residents in following quarantine rules such as wearing masks is necessary."
